About City Registry

What this registry covers and where its city and official records come from.

City Registry is a browsable registry of US cities and towns, their counties and regions, and the officials appointed or elected to local positions. You can search officials by name, or browse by state, city, county, and region.

Where the data comes from

Coverage is added state by state from official state municipal directories. Each state page identifies its source, and every city and official record links back to the source record it was compiled from. Coverage and available fields vary by source.

What the registry is for

The registry is intended to make local-government information easier to browse: which officials serve a city, how cities relate to counties and regions, and where the underlying record can be found. It is not an official government site and does not provide legal advice.

Corrections

Records are reproduced as published by the source. If a source record changes, the registry is updated on the next build. Corrections or source updates can be sent to contact@cityregistry.org.
